I had a dream that my boyfriend and I were trying to smuggle a kitten on an airplane and there was something special/important about this kitten. We wrapped it in bubble wrap with space for its face to poke out so it could breathe and everything... he put it in his jacket pocket. When we were being patted down by the tsa they patted his chest really hard.... when we got on the plane I asked to check on the kitten and.... it was squished... dead.... flat.... no blood or anything but yeah.... I cried and got super upset.... he disposed of it in the air plane bathroom.... it was disturbing
Dreams often reflect our subconscious feelings, fears, and desires. Your dream about smuggling a kitten on an airplane carries several layers of meaning that can provide insight into your emotional state and personal relationships.
Kittens typically symbolize innocence, vulnerability, and new beginnings. The fact that you and your boyfriend are trying to smuggle the kitten suggests that you may be hiding or protecting something precious or vulnerable in your life. This could refer to a sensitive issue in your relationship, a new project, or even aspects of your own personality that you feel need safeguarding.
Airplanes in dreams often represent transition, change, or a journey—both physically and metaphorically. You might be going through a period of transformation in your life or relationship. This can signify a shift in how you view your future together, indicating that you are navigating through uncharted territories of your relationship or personal goals.
The act of smuggling the kitten indicates a feeling of needing to hide something that is important to you or perhaps feeling that something meaningful must be kept secret. This element can point toward anxiety or stress surrounding your relationship, where you may feel the need to protect certain feelings or aspects of yourself from external judgment or scrutiny.
The security check symbolizes an effort to ensure safety or avoid unwanted scrutiny. The aggression of the pat-down could represent external pressures or fears that you both are experiencing. Perhaps you are feeling vulnerable about your relationship, facing potential risks, or dealing with anxiety about how others perceive you as a couple.
The moment when you discover the kitten has died is quite significant, representing a loss or failure that has a deep emotional impact on you. It might reflect fears of losing something precious in your life—be it your relationship, your hopes for the future, or feelings of helplessness in a situation you care about. The way you reacted—crying and getting upset—suggests that you might not be acknowledging a fear or grief in your waking life that weighs heavily on your mind.
Your boyfriend disposing of the kitten in the airplane bathroom could symbolize a reaction to loss that may feel dismissive or unfeeling. This could indicate a fear of abandonment or feelings that your emotional needs are not being met in your relationship. It may represent anxiety about how conflicts and emotional distress are handled within your partnership.
Overall, your dream suggests deep-seated fears related to vulnerability, change, and emotional expression in your relationship. It urges you to evaluate what you're protecting in your life and whether you're allowing yourself to fully acknowledge your feelings. The dream highlights a need for openness and communication concerning your inner worries or the conditions of your relationship, ensuring both you and your partner feel secure and understood.
Consider having an open dialogue with your boyfriend about your feelings. Perhaps talking through any insecurities or fears could help to bring clarity and restore a sense of safety and connection in your relationship. It may also be beneficial to explore what the kitten represents for you personally. By embracing vulnerability together, you can nurture the precious aspects of your lives without fear.
